Progress Report for the month of May 2015.
1.   The work of Calangute – Candolim Circuit is in progress. 95% work of Multilevel Car Parking Plaza has been completed.   95% work of upgradation/renovation of Tourism Jetty has been completed & river cruise is being operated in the completed portion of the Jetty. 70% work of Baga Coastal Circuit development is completed. The work of Calangute – Candolim Circuit is in progress. 25% work of construction of Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology is completed.K.P.M.G. Services Pvt. Ltd. consortiums with Tourism & Leisure, Spain have been appointed for the preparation of Tourism Master Plan & Tourism Policy of Goa and they have started work on it.
2.   Government has administratively approved for the work of supply , erection, testing and commissioning of 16 mtrs High mast Lighting System at Patto – Ribander, also towards LED façade illumination for St. Agnes Church, St. Inez Panji  also towards the work of repairs/ replacement of façade illumination of Shree Debv Mahamaya Kalika temple at Kasarpal  also, towards the work of providing repairs and replacement of façade illumination at Shree Marutirai Saunsthan, Mala, Panaji – Goa, and also towards the work of repairs/replacement of lumaniries provided to Shree Ajoba Temple, Keri, Sattari – Goa. 
3.   The work of development, deployment, management, and operation of Water Safety Patrol almost throughout the coastline with State of Art facilities in the coastal waters of the State of Goa on turn key basis is in operation through M/s Drishti Lifesaving Pvt. Ltd, Donapaula.
4.   Patrolling on the beaches is being carried out by the IRB Police personnel deployed on the beaches of Goa.
5.   Beach Cleaning:Work Order has been issued to M/s Bhumika Transport led Consortium and M/s Ram Engineering & Construction Company led consortium  on the beaches of Goa” for North Goa and South Goa, respectively, w.e.f. 1/9/2014. Engineering led Consortium for carrying out the work of “Comprehensive Management of Cleanliness. An Order is issued to Information Assistants to carry out random inspections of the beach stretches to observe and report the activities being carried out on the entire beach stretches of the state of Goa. 
Department has formed two separate Departmental Committee of North and South Zone Office to have random inspections and observe the performance of Beach Cleaning Contractors of the concerned zone.
6.   River Princess:
A meeting of the Monitoring Committee meeting under the Chairmanship of Pr. Secretary (Tourism) was held on 27/04/2015, wherein the Director of Tourism informed all the members to deliberately take the decision with regard to the releasing of original bank guarantee of M/s. Arihant Ship Breakers, Mumbai and also informed regarding submission of an additional Invoice amounting to Rs. 49,84,81,038/- towards extra salvage of material of M.V. “River princess” by the contractor.
Thereafter the Committee Members deliberated/discussed in the above matter and accordingly concluded to refr the matter to the reputed institutes such as India Institute of Technology (IIT), Mumbai, & National Institute of Hydrography (NIH), Vasco to carry out a study to interpret whether the magnetic anomalies as specified in the report of NIO is belonging to the wreckage of River princess. Also, decided to refer to Biodiversity Board to carry out an Environmental implication/ Cost Analysis and social impact study of dredging/ sweeping operation in the sediment of seabed at the wreck site of M.V. “River princess”.
Accordingly, Department issued letters to the above said institutes and reply to the same awaited.
Beach Shacks:Collection of Commercial Service Tax on Shack fees is in progress and refund of Security Deposit of deck beds is processed.
7.   As part of promotion in international market, Goa Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. as Special Purpose Vehicle has participated in Arabian Travel Mart, Dubai and Road Show at Poland to attract tourists.
