Goa Tourism participates at Global Exhibition on Services from 17 – 20 April 2017

Panjim, 20 April: Goa Tourism recently participated at the Global Exhibition on Services that was held from 17 – 20 April in Greater Noida.
 The event received an encouraging response from the services sector and tourism trade stakeholders. On an average, the event witnessed approx 300 footfalls per day.
 Goa pavilion was an impressive one depicting Goa’s industry, trade, investment and tourism potential. It also showcased various new tourism initiatives like adventure tourism, hinterland tourism, monsoon tourism, heritage tourism, festival tourism, eco-tourism etc. Also, several meetings were conducted between the visitors and Goa Tourism officials present during the event.
 Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, Hon’ble President of India, Mr. Arun Jaitley, Minister of Finance, Defence and Corporate Affairs, Govt of India,  Dr. Mahesh Sharma - Minister of State for Tourism and Culture, Govt. of India, Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman – Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India and Ms. Rita Teotita – Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India graced the event with their presence.
 Mr. Gavin Dias, General Manager, Goa Tourism Development Corporation said “GES 2017 was well organized and had maximum participation and footfalls this year and lot of interest was expressed towards trade and tourism promotion. It was a good platform to showcase Goa’s authenticity and uniqueness which is unbeatable. We also got an opportunity to interact and market our services to various 
countries specially China which was the focus country this year which will help attract tourists from new emerging markets.
 Goa being an ideal place for business and leisure investment, the Directorate of Industries, Trade and Commerce stressed on the ‘Make in Goa’ initiative encouraging investors to come and invest in the state of Goa.
 About GES: GES emerges as a top platform to help India strengthen its global standing in the services space. GES 2017 has successfully provided the required thrust to help the sector gain momentum. A noted feature of GES 2017 was a good number of collaborations between India and overseas partners in areas as diverse as healthcare & wellness and infrastructure structure to hospitality.
