International Yoga Day celebrated by India Tourism and Goa Tourism

International Yoga Day  celebrated  by India Tourism and Goa Tourism
 
Panjim,  June  21: In a joint exercise today,  India Tourism along with Goa Tourism and  Ministry 
for Ayush along with the Goa State Yoga Academy organized an impressive programme to celebrate the  4th International Yoga Day at the Taleigao Community Center here on Thursday.
 
More than 350
schooland  college students from in and around Taleigao along with tourism stakeholders, officials from Goa Tourism, India tourism and TTAG participated in the two-hour long event.
 
The Secretary for Tourism, Mr.  Sheo 
Pratap Singh inaugurated the programme along with Mr. Menino D’Souza, Director, Department of Tourism, Govt. of Goa. 
In his inaugural speech, Mr. Singh highlighted the importance of  Yoga in everyday life and impressed on the gathering to engage in the practice of yoga for all-round development of self which in turn would contribute towards wellness in the State and country.
 

Special yoga exercises were demonstrated and performed by the gathering under the guidance of experts from the Goa State Yoga Academy. 
The entire programme revolved around the theme for this year’s  IYD celebrations: Yoga for Harmony and  Peace.
 
Janu Rosario, Sarpanch  VP Taleigao,   Suraj Naik, from the State  Ayush ministry,  Pradeep Nagvekar,  President of Goa  State Yoga   Academy,   Milind Bharne, Secretary of the  Goa State Yoga,  Academy,  Dr Sutheeshna Babu 
from 
NIWS, Omana Kuttan from India Tourism,  Gavin Dias &  Deepak Narvekar  representing  Goa Tourism  were all present at the  event.
