Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India launches 24x7 Multi-lingual Tourist Helpline

 
Panjim, 21 June: In a unique exercise to facilitate visits of tourists to India, the Ministry of Tourism,   Govt. of India has launched a 24x7 toll-free multi-lingual tourist helpline. This relates to the availability of tourist information and assistance to the visiting tourists while traveling in the country.
 
This service is available on the toll-free number 1800111363 or on a short code 1363 and operational 24x7 (365 days in a year) offering a ‘Multi-lingual Helpdesk’.
 
The helpline will also advise callers during the times of distress if any while traveling in India will alert the concerned authorities if required.
 
The Ministry of Tourism has launched the 24x7 toll-free multi-lingual tourist helpline in 12 international languages. The languages handled by the tourist helpline include  10 international languages namely  Arabic,  French,  German,  Italian,  Japanese,  Korean, Chinese, Portuguese, Russian and  Spanish, including Hindi and English.
 
The objective of this multi- lingual helpline is to provide information relating to travel and tourism in India to the domestic and international tourists.
 
This is a unique endeavor by Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India which gives the foreign tourists a sense of safety and security during their travel in India.
 
This toll-free multi- lingual tourist helpline has been declared as the winner of the Outlook Traveler award 2017 for the Best New Tourism Initiative.
