#LiveTheFeeling: experiencing Goa beyond sightseeing

To deepen meaningful visitor engagement and encourage immersive travel, the Department of Tourism, Government of Goa, launched #LiveTheFeeling, a three-month experiential campaign rolled out from January to March 2026. Building on the emotional connect created by the earlier #FeelsLikeGoa initiative, this campaign marks a natural progression from feeling Goa to truly living it.

#LiveTheFeeling invites travellers to step beyond conventional sightseeing and engage with the state through its people, traditions, everyday rhythms, and community-led experiences. The campaign reflects a conscious shift towards immersive, responsible, and regenerative tourism, where visitors become participants rather than spectators.

From emotion to action

While #FeelsLikeGoa celebrated the emotional essence of the destination, #LiveTheFeeling translates that sentiment into action. The campaign encourages travellers to slow down and engage deeply with Goa’s cultural and social fabric whether by participating in local festivals, exploring village trails, or learning traditional skills directly from community practitioners.

At its core, #LiveTheFeeling highlights experiences that are rooted in authenticity and shared value. Travellers are encouraged to support local livelihoods by staying in regenerative homestays, dining at family-run kitchens, and choosing experiences that benefit host communities while preserving Goa’s cultural identity.

Celebrating culture and community

Rolled out during Goa’s peak festive season, the campaign aligns with vibrant cultural celebrations such as Carnaval and Shigmo, offering visitors the opportunity to experience these events as living traditions rather than staged attractions. Music, dance, folk performances, and community gatherings become gateways to understanding Goa’s diverse cultural expressions.

The campaign also promotes hands-on learning experiences pottery, cooking, crafts, and ecology-based workshops that allow visitors to engage directly with local knowledge systems. These experiences foster cultural exchange while reinforcing respect for traditional practices and sustainable living.

Travel consciously, live fully

A key message of #LiveTheFeeling is conscious travel. Visitors are encouraged to opt for low-impact, community-inclusive activities that align with Goa’s long-term vision of responsible tourism development. By choosing experiences that prioritise sustainability, inclusivity, and local participation, travellers contribute positively to the destinations they visit.

Every visual, story, and on-ground activation under the campaign carries a consistent message: Live slow. Live deeply. The emphasis is not on ticking off attractions, but on creating meaningful memories shaped by human connections, shared experiences, and a deeper understanding of place.

A step towards Regenerative Tourism

#LiveTheFeeling reinforces Goa Tourism’s broader commitment to regenerative tourism where tourism supports cultural preservation, community well-being, and environmental balance. By spotlighting community-led initiatives and encouraging longer, more thoughtful engagement, the campaign positions Goa as a destination that values depth over pace and connection over consumption.

As travellers seek more purposeful journeys, #LiveTheFeeling offers an invitation to experience Goa in a way that is enriching for both visitors and local communities. It is a reminder that the true essence of Goa is best discovered not by rushing through it, but by living it one experience at a time.
